Almost
every employee within Galenica Group as well as those of partner companies have
suspected that Etienne Jornod has been generously supportive of some selected
senior executives of the company. This attitude of Etienne Jornod has been very
often a frequent topic for gossips within the Galenica itself.
Indeed! How
would it be possible to explain to an outside observer?
Why do some
senior executives have been flying first class only, have leaving in 5-star
hotels during corporate events while other colleagues and partners have been accommodated in
3-star hotels only.
What kind
of circumstances has justified the annual visits of top managers in Rio during
the famous carnival?
Whether
this has been so important to have a business trip to South Korea during the
World Cup or it has been a good reason to attend a match at the World Cup?
Employees
would like to know why and what for, some senior executives have been enjoying
such generous privileges. Partner companies Partners have been surprised by such
(selective) expenses policy within Galenica Group and have not been founding
any explanations for this extravagance.
Any
dissatisfaction of any Galenica employee (even at level of senior executives) of
such electoral preferences by Etienne Jornod may have and has caused his
prejudice and anger towards someone who might doubt the status quo. We do not
have sufficient evidence to describe the exact steps Etienne Jornod in this
case, but we reliably know about his inaction to eliminate discontent within
the company.
June 2008. Etienne
Jornod has been personally informed of the fact that dissatisfaction of a high
executive of some of his colleagues has been not a matter of personal lack of
sympathy and careerism, but a matter of wasteful behavior of the latter at
their workplace as well during their numerous trips abroad. Nevertheless, Etienne
Jornod did not want to hear anything about his Favorites.
February
2010. Etienne Jornod has been informed that within high executives of Galenica
Group it has been a common practice to demand for kickbacks from partners and
misuse of marketing budget for personal profit. Etienne Jornod has refused from
any assistance in elimination of this practice. The only action of Etienne
Jornod has been to declare that “he knew about irregularities among close to
him colleagues but he had not enough evidence to commence investigation and
find the truth”.
October
2012. Name of the company and bank account used to accumulate kickbacks and
misused company funds have become publicly known. Etienne Jornod further prefers to
ignore this information and do nothing.
We assume and
strongly believe that Etienne Jornod has had a convincing argument not to
investigate cases of embezzlements and kickbacks. We are more and more convincing
that Etienne Jornod has been not able to keep relations between high executives
within principals of Corporate Code of Conduct. We are not quite sure if the retirement
of 2 Heads of Human Resources Division (member of Corporate Executive Committee)
within one year is somehow in connection with these circumstances.
As a matter
of fact, Etienne Jornod has already lost a piece or considerable part of its
excellent reputation.
